Hey everyone,

We don't want to say being a man today is tougher than it used to be (because it’s not), but it’s tough in a different way. We guys can feel like we're walking a tightrope between who we are and what society expects us to be. (And please don’t misunderstand us here - this isn’t a zero sum game where compassion for men takes away from the difficulties of women… It does NOT and we certainly appreciate those difficulties!). Last week, we spoke with Dr. Todd Kashdan about this on our episode of the Men Talking Mindfulness Podcast, “Men Deserve Some Compassion,” titled that after his Substack article with the same title.

We often hear that men have it easy because of "male privilege." But it’s not so black and white. Men face all sorts of challenges too, and not every guy benefits equally from this so-called privilege.
